An Ode To The Women Before Me

In these works Sibéál performs constructed rituals in rural landscapes which act as intimate portraits exploring her relationship with herself and the areas where she spent her formative years.

​

These works were created through and post lockdown, shot in remote locations within five kilometres of her family home. 

​

The performances and the landscapes where they took place are documented on medium format film, using various analogue techniques including pinhole photography, recording extended periods of time with a single image.

This project was made into a TLP edition, published by PhotoIreland as part of the Inspiration Arts Awards 2020 which SIbéal was a finalist of.
